Below are different variations of two custom Gutenberg blocks – the “species” and “biome” blocks. Both have custom settings to adjust the style/layout. The editor can see the layout and styles update directly in the editor as they work. Also included are a few custom styles for the core button block.
Massachusetts Fern
Thelypteris simulata
Bright green in color. The frond has some variation in shape, but it is around 24 in long, and its stalk is long and slender at 8 in. The stalks are thin and slightly scaly, or hairy. The upwards portion is yellow-green in color, and the base is a light brown color.

Swamp
a forested wetland characterized by being consistently saturated or flooded with water. Swamps are distinguished from marshes by their dominant plant life, which is typically trees, while marshes are dominated by grasses. They are found globally, particularly in areas with poor drainage and abundant water, often near rivers or along coastlines.

Venus Flytrap
Dionaea muscipula
A carnivorous plant native to the temperate and subtropical wetlands of North Carolina and South Carolina, on the East Coast of the United States. Although various modern hybrids have been created in cultivation, D. muscipula is the only species of the monotypic genus Dionaea.

Bog
A type of wetland ecosystem characterized by wet, spongy, poorly drained, peat-rich soil. It’s formed by the accumulation of dead plant matter, often sphagnum moss, over time. Bogs are typically acidic and often found in cooler climates.

Swiss Cheese Plant
Monstera deliciosa
A species of flowering plant native to tropical forests of southern Mexico, south to Panama. It has been introduced to many tropical areas, and has become a mildly invasive species in Hawaii, Seychelles, Ascension Island and the Society Islands.

Rainforest
Dense, lush forests characterized by high annual rainfall, typically exceeding 80 inches, and a high degree of biodiversity. They’re known for their layered structure, with emergent trees reaching high above the canopy, creating distinct habitats for diverse plant and animal life.
Rainforests are forests characterized by a closed and continuous tree canopy, moisture-dependent vegetation, the presence of epiphytes and lianas and the absence of wildfire. Rainforests can be generally classified as tropical rainforests or temperate rainforests, but other types have been described.
